Kickstart Your Journey With Cadet Referee Training

Join the Cadet Referee program at Mulgoa Valley FC! Develop leadership skills, gain confidence, and support fair play in our local football community.

At Mulgoa Valley Football Club, we believe that our community is the heart of the game. Whether you are a player, a coach, or a parent, we all play a vital role in making our matches safe, fair, and fun. We are excited to highlight the latest Cadet Referee Training initiatives from the Nepean Football Association, which offer a fantastic opportunity for our young members to step up and take on leadership roles on the pitch. The Junior Cadet Referee (JCR) program is designed for young people aged 11 to 16 who want to gain a deeper understanding of the laws of the game while developing confidence, communication skills, and fitness. By participating in this training, our cadets learn the essentials of officiating—from positioning and whistle use to managing fouls and offside calls—all under the guidance of the Nepean Referees Group (NRG). For our club, this program is about more than just filling a role; it is about fostering a culture of respect. When our young members take the whistle, they gain a unique perspective on the game that helps them grow as players and individuals. It also provides a supportive pathway for those who might eventually want to pursue refereeing at a higher level. To get started, all prospective cadets must complete the required training provided by the NRG and ensure they are registered in both PlayFootball and Dribl. We encourage all interested juniors to speak with our committee about how to get involved. Remember, refereeing is not just about enforcing rules; it is about being a leader and giving back to the sport we all love. Let’s support our future officials as they embark on this rewarding journey. If you are ready to take the next step, reach out to the club today to learn more about upcoming training sessions and how you can become a valued part of the Nepean football officiating community.
