Kickstart Your Refereeing Journey at Mulgoa Valley
Interested in refereeing? Join the Mulgoa Valley FC cadet referee program to build confidence and support our junior football matches this season.
Have you ever watched a match and wondered what it takes to be the person in the middle? At Mulgoa Valley Football Club, we know that our game simply cannot happen without the dedication of our match officials. Whether you are a player looking to stay connected to the sport, a parent wanting to understand the rules better, or a young enthusiast eager to take your first steps into officiating, the Cadet Referee program is the perfect place to start. Cadet refereeing is a fantastic initiative for those under 13 who aren't quite ready for the full accreditation pathway but want to gain valuable experience. These cadets play a vital role at our club, acting as game leaders for our U5 to U8 age groups and officiating non-competition matches for U9 to U12 players. It is more than just blowing a whistle; it is about building confidence, developing leadership skills, and giving back to the Mulgoa Valley community. By starting as a cadet, you get a head start on your refereeing journey in a supportive, familiar environment. You will learn the ropes, understand the Laws of the Game, and help ensure our youngest players have a fun and fair experience every weekend. For those aged 13 and older, the pathway continues through the Nepean Referees Group, where you can complete the Junior Football Match Official course to gain official accreditation. This includes online modules and practical, on-field training that prepares you for competitive fixtures. Refereeing is a rewarding way to stay fit, earn some pocket money, and develop life skills that extend far beyond the pitch. If you are interested in becoming a cadet referee or want to know more about the official pathway, please reach out to the club committee today. We are always looking for passionate members to join our officiating ranks and help keep the spirit of football alive at Mulgoa Valley. Let’s work together to support our referees and keep our games running smoothly all season long!
